It's May 9th and all of the Birds and bees are busy doing their part. The Sun is out right now and it's a few minutes before 6:30 pm. the image above is the current work on the wall, and has been a work in progress since April 5th. There is still a fair bit of work still left to do, as I feel there is an imbalance or sense of unease. My works in this style are just as emotion filled as the works I do that are almost completely done with my hands and paint...no brushes but to do some washes.much of this work is done with many layers with paint and various pallet knives. I'll build the layers then eventually go back through and shade areas around most of the forms to create "shadow" for depth.I want the painting to remain flat feeling, but have depth. I'll do this particular painting style when I feel I need more focus, and to get "into" the painting without being so heavily burdened with the emotional output, like my more viceral works do. as this work stands it's 5'x5' unstretched, and is for sale.
