There are times as an artist of any sort to lack motivation. you have to be able to step away, and follow other interests that feed your soul. getting back out into nature, hugging a tree and walk ing trails will lift anyones spirits, and breath life back into your passion.
Right now im riding a flow train that has me seeking inspiration, while painting up a storm. Im delving into understanding more color theory. having a more solid base will contribute to a more solid work. the painting above was put together with my love of Van Gogh, and a mid century artist whose works were mainly composed what looked like 4 colors.
Working wet on wet with oils can be tricky, so you need to be confident in your brushstroke or you'll over work the paint and it'll become muddy.
I have a penchant for line, and being expressive! Jackson Pollocks "Mural" is and has been one of my favorite works of any artist. There is a flow, and grace to the Mural, and the complexity is unmatched in the abstract world of art.

Here are a few of the latest creations from the past week. Inspiration ran from my own work, to a painting by a Delft Artist from the turn of the century, to being outside and including a style by a local artist. Creating is a must no matter your style as a painter.
