Reday for the show! September 6th the First Friday in Vancouver Washington's downtown art walk evening. the show will be at Art at the Cave, and will be up for a month.. this work has taken me over a month to create. with it being oil there is waiting time, and daily things to do that cause some delay, but there was almost daily work for a month and half.
I origionall had this piece at 77 inches. There must have been a mess up on my end when putting in the details where i made the order 2 inches shorter! that wasn't too big of a loss as at the bottom of the painting i had a band of unfinished space, that I was going to work on when stretched. well...I got to work on the bottom strip, but at a minor loss.
also with not painting this on a pre-stretched canvas, dealing with tight tolerances, as the lines have to be plumb, and level. also, I was banking on stretching this over a 1-1/8th inch thick stretched frame...not a 1-5/8. besides those minor hurdles it turned out amazingly!
I just picked up some wood strips for the sides of the painting. Im going for mor of the oldschool look of the "stick" frames that were on the early modern abstracs.
