Building on my career as an artist I have to branch out and make myself uncomfortable in order to be comfortable, with engaging people. I decided to do a talk on my piece (Baroque #1) at Art at the Cave Gallery in Vancouver, Washington. I was the last in line due to the size of the work (84x56"), as it couldn't fit on the tiny easel for display. Once the previous artist was done with their talk everyone sitting took a second to turn their chairs around to see me and my art. My girlfriend was kind enough to take a couple nice photos and offer great support, encouragement, and advice.
Being my first talk I had written out my thoughts more or less as a "bullets" use for a place to start from. I ended up not using what I wrote, but just a smidgeon.
My art represents who I am as an individual, an artist... I sew my feelings, thoughts, into my work. Depending on the day, week or month the outcome is wildly different from the next.
