"I paint what I want to paint" that is my motto. I belive we as humans evolove through our lives as we get older, and as older I mean on the daily scale. We are influenced by our decisions to act on the thing we decide to do, and we change on those acts. My Art follows the trajectory as my life...as im influenced by my actions throughout the day. Below is the current work in progress. I walked in the studio after work (and after taking a short nap) I sat down chose a canvas size after deliberating the choice of a 24x30 or the 16x20 that I chose. I went with a concept slightly inspired by Franz Kline and just went with it. This work evolved as i went along, but kept the bones of the forms you see. I already like what I'm seeing.
With the last image of the work you see here I am left with only cleaning up what I feel needs any attention. I love what I see and I feel this is a great work if I do say so myself. there is a great balance in the form and color, but there is also warm feeling to it. I get a sence of a landscape and yet in a room with light filtering in. I have been liking the Diebenkorn works with the views from his studio, and it's quite possible those images did filter into my process leaving an indelible impression.
